I stumbled across Autumn’s Pretense in your box on S. Washington St. I am a retired lawyer who spent his life writing legal documents. In my retirement I was determined to develop an appreciation for poetry, but have not been successful until I found your poem. Your description of leaves without using the noun was spot on. But then for the word to appear as a verb in the last line was magical. Thank you. I have signed on for more and look forward to more. And I will share your website with friends who are farther along in there appreciation of your art form.

Thank you very much for your kind words. They caught me by surprise. I didn’t think anyone would actually like my poetry, but was hoping they might be willing to tell me what they didn’t like about it, so I could work on improving. I’m grateful you enjoyed Autumn’s Pretense, and hope you won’t shy away from telling me what you do and do not like in the future.
